This summer sees the American artist, the grand master of kitsch Jeff Koons embark on an ambitious European tour: extensive shows of his work go simultaneously on view at the Basel Fondation Beyeler and two exhibition halls in Frankfurt, Schirn Kunsthalle and Liebieghaus. The most significant source of inspiration for Jeff Koons is the obsessions and neuroses of the contemporary consumerist culture. To quote from an interview by the artist: 'I work with things that are sometimes referred to as kitsch, even if kitsch per se has never interested me.
