On the evening of December 5th a new solo exhibition “Simple story” by Latvian photographer Alnis Stakle welcomed its first visitors at Office gallery of the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art (LCCA). It continues the melancholic ambiance that has suddenly emerged from the Latvian contemporary art scene. The exhibited objects, photographs and texts are linked to a family photo album that came into the photographer’s possession along the request to destroy it. The biographical material, which once held important memories, now is missing a few leaves, but these few pages are an inspiration to discuss the connection between melancholy and photography. The exhibition is on view until January 11, 2013.
