ArtVilnius, the largest contemporary art fair in the Baltic region, announces an open call for applications for its 17th edition, inviting galleries and artists from across Europe and beyond to participate.

Strategically positioned between Northern, Central, and Eastern Europe, ArtVilnius offers galleries access to an expanding collector base and one of the region’s most dynamic art markets. ArtVilnius’26 will take place from 1–4 October, with a VIP Preview on 1 October.

Now established as an international meeting point, ArtVilnius brings together collectors, galleries, artists, curators, institutions, and art professionals from across Europe. Each year, the fair hosts around 70 galleries and institutions from more than 20 countries and attracts approximately 18,000–23,000 visitors.

Applications for Galleries
Applications will be reviewed by a jury of art critics and art market professionals, who will select approximately 70 galleries to present artworks in customisable stands ranging from 30 to 50 square metres. Special conditions are available for emerging galleries operating for fewer than three years, as well as for galleries from Poland and Austria.

Applications for The Path
Individual artists are invited to propose projects for inclusion in the annual group exhibition The Path / Takas, which focuses on sculpture, performance, and installation. The exhibition is curated annually, and this year’s curator is Aliaksei Barysionak, a curator and writer, who currently lives and works in Vienna.

Application Deadline
The deadline for applications for both galleries and The Path is 1 June 2026.  For further details and application information, please visit the ArtVilnius website.

Vilnius / Warsaw / Vienna
The 17th edition of ArtVilnius will present a special focus on the contemporary art scenes of Vilnius, Vienna, and Warsaw, fostering cross-regional exchange and supporting the international visibility of artistic practices.

Project Zone
The ArtVilnius’26 Project Zone, curated by Neringa Bumblienė – curator, author, and director at Nida Art Colony of Vilnius Academy of Arts and artistic director and curator of the Vilnius Biennial of Performance Art – traces a diagonal line westward from Vilnius, connecting art scenes of three capitals of the wider region. Each city – Vilnius, Warsaw, and Vienna – has distinct histories, artists, and institutions important both locally and internationally. This unique perspective places Vilnius in dialogue with Warsaw and Vienna, expanding conventional ideas of the region and revealing unexpected connections, contrasts, and shared concerns.
